Diego Mesa
Diego Mesa is a Project Coordinator at North Star Alliances. In the role, Diego leverages his strong background in project management and community outreach to coordinate large-scale initiatives, manage stakeholder relations, and ensure the seamless execution of diverse events and programs for NSA clients including Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Across his client work, Diego is deeply committed to fostering inclusion and equity within the communities he serves.
Prior to joining NSA, Diego worked in the nonprofit sector at CORE Response, a humanitarian crisis nonprofit responsible for the massive vaccination efforts at Dodger Stadium during the early pandemic. During his time at CORE, Diego held key leadership roles, such as Program Coordinator, Safety Liaison, Assistant Site Manager, and Community Outreach Coordinator. In his last role, Diego and his team, in partnership with the LA County Department of Public Health, spearheaded a pilot program assessing the healthcare needs of underserved communities by modeling the health practices of Costa Rica and Cuba. His passion for uplifting marginalized communities is intertwined with his personal background as an immigrant from Colombia and a queer-identifying individual.
Diego is a first-generation college graduate, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies from UCLA. He also holds two Associate’s degrees from Los Angeles City College - one in Social and Behavioral Sciences, and another in Humanities and Liberal Studies.
