Diane Echávarri
Diane Echávarri is a Project Coordinator at North Star Alliances. In the role she supports NSA clients’ community outreach initiatives, and has worked on various L.A. Care Health Plan community events, including as their backpack giveaway event series and past COVID-19 vaccine pop up events. Diane also supports L.A. Care’s annual Annual Provider Recognition Awards, where select L.A. Care doctors are celebrated for their excellent patient care and management.
Diane has dedicated her life to supporting her community and educating young people in the Los Angeles region. For 31 years she worked in administrative services at Los Angeles Unified School District. During her LAUSD tenure, she worked at Roosevelt High School in Boyle Heights, which is one of the largest schools in the country. She also worked at Albion Elementary School in Lincoln Heights, the Miguel Contreras Learning Complex in Downtown Los Angeles, and Marianna Avenue Elementary in East Los Angeles. In her roles at these schools Diane led administrative oversight of payroll, annual budgets, vendor management, and enrollment/attendance. Diane also managed community and parent engagement, donation and volunteer recruitment, strategic partnerships, and community beautification campaigns. During this time Diane built deep-rooted relationships with community and business leaders across the region, and helped form longstanding partnerships between those leaders and the schools she served.
Diane is a current member of the West Whittier Community Advisory Committee, sponsored by LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn and the Pico Rivera Sheriff Department. She is also a past board member of the California School Employee Association. Diane continues to serve LAUSD as a substitute teacher at Soto Street Elementary School in South East Los Angeles.
